The Fertiliser Manual (RB209)
Published on 22 July 2010
The Fertiliser Manual (RB209) replaces the old Fertiliser Recommendations 7th edition (2000). It provides recommendations for the use of lime and major nutrients (N, P, K, S, Mg, Na) on most field-grown crops including arable, grassland, field vegetables and fruit.
Additionally, it provides farmers and their advisers details of the content and supply of nutrients from a wide range of organic manures, and provides a wide range of background information on nutrient management.

Climate Change: solutions from the grassland sector
Published on 29 June 2010
PLANT breeding is a cost effective route to delivering increased production and improved environmental protection. High sugar ryegrass (HSG) varieties, bred at IBERS, improve (nitrogen) N use in the rumens of cattle and sheep, reducing emissions and increasing milk and meat production.
This paper has been taken from a summary by Matt Mellor of Agribusiness Communications talking at a seminar organised by the Royal Agricultural Society of England (RASE) and the Institute of Biological, Environmental & Rural Sciences (IBERS) held at Stoneleigh Park.
