FARMERS can never afford to waste money. With the increasing cost of fertilisers, now is the time to maximise the use of slurry and manure and to reduce the use of expensive fertilisers without compromising grass growth.
Under the RDPE Northwest Livestock Programme, farmers can take advantage of grant-aided Nutrient and Manure Management Plans that could help reduce their fertiliser bill by 20% to 30%.
Plus, if the recommendations of our plan include capital investment, you may be eligible to apply for a Performance Grant.
A Nutrient and Manure Plan would typically cover:
- Soil Sampling
- Manure Calculations
- Fertiliser Requirements
- Manure and Slurry Storage Requirements
- Reducing Slurry by clean water diversion
- Use of Slurry separators
- Silage Effluent Collection
The cost of the plan is partly funded by the RDPE Northwest Livestock Programme. Participating farmers will pay £150 (plus VAT) towards the overall cost.
