What is a Monitor Farm?
A monitor farm is a focal point for a group of interested farmers and industry experts to work together and share their knowledge and expertise for mutual benefit. The farmers will look at the impact of changes made to the farming practice following an improvement plan developed by the group, the host farmer and expertise from the industry.
The aim
The aim is to increase the levels of performance for the host farms, and the performance of farmers in monitor farm business groups attached to the monitor farms, over the next three years. The monitor farms have been selected by farmers; they are all commercial farms, typical of their local area, run by farmers dedicated to improving profit and performance.
Join a Monitor Farm Business Group near you...
Each monitor farm will have a group of farmers linked to it to form a monitor farm business group. This group will be involved in discussions to improve the farm and monitor improvement to the business.

How to get involved
Each monitor farm business group will meet four times a year and there will be one open day each year open to all farmers at every farm.
If you are interested in joining the nearest business group to you, contact an adviser in your area to learn more (see how to join and who to contact by using the information down the side of this page).
This work is being delivered by Myerscough College, Reaseheath College, Cumbria Farmer Network and EFFP, with support from Eblex and DairyCo.
