A FULL sales ring at Lancaster Auction Mart saw close to 200 farmers attend a day organised by Myerscough College to explain how EID works.
The event covered legislation, the tags, equipment and first-hand experience of a Devon farmer using the flock management tool.
Peter Baber explains (in the first video) how using EID as a management tool has made his life easier and (in the second video) helped improve the quality of his sheep - both physically and financially:

Peter Baber farms 1,000 Texel, Suffolk, Friesland and composite sheep in Dartmoor, Devon. He has been using the technology to manage his flock for four and a half years and says “he couldn’t now farm without it”.
The new individual identification and recording of sheep legislation came in to force on December 31st 2009. EID (or electronic identification) is the technology that aims to make individual recording as practical as possible.
