Broadband: Is your business at an unfair disadvantage?

Do you struggle with the speed of your internet connection? Want to do more online banking, download information in seconds rather than minutes or quickly update content to your website.

If you feel cut off from the rest of the world by poor connection speeds you and fellow rural businesses in your area can do something about it as Defra has launched a new fund to provide superfast internet connection that will benefit rural communities - called The Rural  Community Broadband Fund (RCBF), with confirmed funding of £20m.

This aim is to enable the funding of superfast broadband projects in the most hard to reach areas in England. The Fund is being delivered as part of the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE). The first round for expressions of interest is open from today (December 1st) until 31 January 2012.

Full details on the fund, how to apply and express an interest can be found on the RDPE Network site >>
