Upland Entry Level Stewardship farm walk - Whitewell, Clitheroe

This farm walk will look at the potential of Upland Entry Level Stewardship (UELS) on your farm and the benefits it can bring to both the environment and farm income.

Where: New Laund Farm, Little Bowland Road, Whitewell, Clitheroe BB7 3BN
When: Tuesday March 16th 10am to 12-30pm

Upland Entry Level Stewardship (UELS): the successor to the Hill Farm Allowance (HFA).

The Hill Farm Allowance (HFA) is coming to an end and its successor is the Upland Entry Level Stewardship (UELS).

Farmers and land owners who enter UELS will receive up to £62/ha on their SDA land. To gain entry in to the scheme farmers will have to achieve a points target by meeting requirements and choosing options which best suit their farming practice.

The morning shall consist of:
• Introduction to the farm and UELS
• Farm walk looking at the requirements and a selection of options
• Discuss how UELS fits in with the existing agri-environmental schemes
• The application process

Followed by a free hot lunch

There will be follow up drop in clinics at Chipping in the following weeks, you will receive information regarding these in due course.

We shall be walking across fields and up and down terrain so please wear suitable clean footwear. A foot dip will be provided for bio-security purposes.
