The benefits of EID as a management tool to you and your flock - Cheshire

ON the 31st of December 2009 the new sheep electronic identification (EID) rules come into force. Are you fully prepared?

This demonstration event aims to show you that EID is much more than a piece of legislation but a powerful management tool for recording vet and medicine records, changing management practices as well as saving you time and money.

Venue: Reaseheath College, Nantwich 
Date: Thursday 19th November

Time: 10-30 a.m.

1) Reaseheath College: Flock manager Matt Bagley will demonstrate the use of the EID equipment used on the college farm and the benefits to his management practices

2) Defra: A representative from Defra will explain the legal requirements of the regulation

3) Shearwell Data Ltd: Live demonstrations will show how EID can be used to ease the regulatory burden and be used as an invaluable management tool. Demonstrations will include:- 

• Basic stick readers to help comply with legislation

• Handheld Stock Recorder with software to aid management

• Race reader systems to record quantities of sheep on the run

• Automatic drafting system

4) DVD presentation on behalf of Eblex looking at EID legislation and principles
