THESE meetings are aimed at improving the performance of Lower Highfield Farm and the Lancashire beef and sheep monitor farm business group.
At this first business group meeting we will be looking more closely at the livestock performance, and, as a group, come up with solutions to address any issues which we think will help improve performance.
Following this discussion we will be looking into the winter nutrition of the ewes, suckler cattle and calves, aiming to get your animals in peak condition for lambing and calving whilst improving growth rates in the young stock, focusing high quality forage where it is needed and showing how attention to detail could save you a great deal of expense in both labour and concentrate costs whilst improving the performance of your animals.
Speaking at the meeting will be John Naylor, a highly respected beef and sheep nutritionist from Carrs Billington. He will look at the farm’s forage analysis pointing out areas of strength and weakness, formulating a feeding ration and recommending the way forward.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
