IT'S well documented what can be done to improve grassland on dairy farms, but what can be done on upland hill farms?
This demonstration event held on a sheep farm above Burnley aims to address what can be done to make the most out of the grassland on typical beef and sheep farms in East Lancashire, Gt. Manchester and other upland areas within the region.
Covering:
- Options for re-seeding
- Compaction and aeration
- Trace elements in the soil / soil testing
Where: Higher Micklehurst Farm, Manchester Road, Burnley BB11 5NS
When: Tuesday 8th June 10-30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (time to be confirmed)
Speakers will be James Bretherton from Agscope, Helen Mathieu from British Seed Houses and Charlie Morgan, an independent grassland consultant who works with EBLEX. Machinery demos will form part of the day. Food and refreshments will be provided
