AUG 16th: Cumbria Beef and Sheep Monitor Farm - The management and prevention of sheep diseases

THE aim of this meeting is to look at some of the health issues currently affecting the sheep sector and the effects they are having on the ewe flock at Fellside House Farm, Caldbeck.

The speakers are Alistair Reid & George Girvan from Belle Vue vets and Rebecca Mearns from the VLA, Penrith 

 

The topics covered will include the effects the abortion outbreaks had last spring and the control measures available, how using Faecal Egg Counts to monitor the worm burden can reduce the reliance on routine dosing and help prevent anthelmintic resistance, plus the growing problem of Fluke infestations and the most advantageous time of year to dose.
