Catchment Sensitive Farming - Tried and Tested workshops (Ribble and Wyre) - Chipping

YOU are invited to a half day workshop to discuss the practical approaches to nutrient management which can offer the potential to increase profitability and reduce fertiliser use while reducing the risk of diffuse water pollution from agriculture (DWPA).
When: Wednesday 18th November
Time: 10am to 1pm
Where: Chipping and District Memorial Hall
This FREE event is open to farmers in the Ribble and Wyre catchment. It covers:
- An introduction to Catchment Sensitive Farming.
- Sector specific advice to soil nutrient management - in particular dairying and livestock.
- The use of 'RB209' Fertiliser Recommendations booklet in reference to grassland and forage cropping.
- Applying TRIED & Tested to worked examples and for your own farm.
By the end of the workshop, you will be able to carry out a nutrient management plan for your farm as required by NVZ's using a paper based system and recognise how much FYM and Slurry contribute to your farm production while reducing the risk of DWPA.
